An important update for Eclipse customers
We’re really sorry to let you know that from 6 January 2026, @eclipse.co.uk email accounts and any linked web hosting will be discontinued.
This change is being made by a third-party supplier, and unfortunately it’s not something we’re able to control or extend. We completely understand this may cause inconvenience, and we want to make sure you have plenty of time and support to keep your data safe.

FAQ
From 6th January 2026 , all eclipse.co.uk email accounts and webspace will be discontinued. This means you won’t be able to access your emails, log in via webmail or alter or view your webspace after that date.
This closure is being made by a third-party supplier who provides the email and web hosting services for Eclipse. Unfortunately, this is outside of our control , the legacy server infrastructure that provides the facility will be decommissioned and we’re unable to extend or continue these services beyond the deadline.
Although Nasstar have communicated a 16
th January 2026 closure, we’re asking all Eclipse customers to
fully back up their emails and websites by 6th January 2026
. From the this date we will no longer be able to support any technical issues.
This will also ensure you don’t lose access if the service is closed earlier than planned or if there are any unforeseen changes. Completing your backup before 6
th January
2026 gives you peace of mind and time to check everything’s transferred correctly.
You’ll need to:
- Download all your emails (inbox, sent items, and any folders) to your computer or chosen email program.
- Back up your website – including files, images, and any databases.
- Move to a new email or hosting provider using the backups you’ve saved.
We’ve created easy-to-follow video and written guides to help you through each step.
After 6 th January 2026, support for these services will end and any remaining data may be at risk of being permanently lost. We strongly recommend completing your backups as soon as possible to avoid losing important information.

If you have web hosting through Eclipse, use our FTP Guide to download your site files, images, and databases. This will let you upload your website to a new hosting provider when required.
No. Once the Eclipse domain closes, that address will no longer exist. You’ll need to create a new email address with your chosen provider (for example, Gmail, Outlook, or your new web host). You can then import your old emails using the backups you’ve made.
If you have a domain name registered separately (not ending in @eclipse.co.uk), you will be contacted shortly via email to confirm what will happen next to ensure continuity.
While Eclipse isn’t charging for the backup process, most email or web hosting companies do charge for ongoing services. Prices vary, so we recommend comparing providers to find one that fits your needs and budget.

Your final invoice for any billed services related to this notice will be in December 2025.
The recommended last day to complete your backups is 6 January 2026 as support will no longer be available. After the 16th January, you won’t be able to access your email or hosting, and any remaining data could be permanently lost.
FTP Download Guide
FTP Download:
- To download your website files, you’re need to use a FTP file software, in this demo we’re assume you already have FileZilla downloaded.
- We’re using some example data within this, but please use the data given in your guide email, for the username name, hostname, username and port.
- Once added click Quick Connect.
- If successful, you should see status: Logged In
- At the bottom you’re see two area, on the left its your local machine, on the right its the web server.
- The folder names would have been created by yourself, so we’re assume in this example we want to download the data from public_html
- Open up the folder, copy what you want to download, then drag it to the area on the left, this will download to your local machine.
- If download was successful you’re get another status update.
- These can then be re-uploaded / provided to your new web host of choice.
Outlook Guide
Outlook:
- Within you’re outlook select File, then select Open & Export
- On the popup screen select Import/Export
- Select Export to a file
- Then select Outlook Data File
- On the second screen select the mailbox you want to export to, then select the location, and click finish.
- You’re be asked if you want to add a password, in this example we skipped this, but you can add one if required.
- Once that’s completed, you’re emails are now downloaded to your folder, and can be imported into any mail provider, using their given guides.
Webmail Guide
Webmail:
- To download your emails via our webmail platform, with it being legacy you can only download a single mail at a time. In this example we’re be downloading just one.
- Click on the email you want to download, then select the three dots above More
- Then select “Download (.Eml), this will download that single email to your devices default download location.
- You can then repeat for any other emails you want, and import these into your chosen mail provider of choice using their guides.
Thunderbird Guide
Thunderbird:
- To download your emails via Thunderbird we’re expect you already have your emails routing and showing on this platform.
- Simply click on the settings icon on the bottom Left of the screen.
- Then click “Add-ons and Themes”
- On the new window, search for a add-on called ImportExportTools NG
- Click Add to Thunderbird
- This will download in the background, after a few moments, click back on your inbox on the top menu.
- Right click on the folder you want to download, in this example we’re use Inbox.
- Click on the bottom option called ImportExportTools NG
- There is few options to click, depending on your usage cases.
- You can download either just one email, all emails, or just the images.
- In this example, we’re select the option to download all emails, subfolders, and anything else important from that folder.
- This can be done by clicking Export All Messages In Folder, then clicking EML Message Format, then clicking Messages and Index with Subfolders.
- On the next screen you’re be able to choose the folder you want to save this to.
- Once done, you’re emails are now downloaded to your folder, and can be imported into any mail provider, using their given guides.
